What is coaching

Coaching is a thought provoking and creative process that helps people to maximise their personal and professional potential. The Coach provides a reflective space and through the use of exploration facilitates increased awareness about yourself, your life and the issues you have chosen to address in coaching. It looks at what you want to achieve as well as possible obstacles and what’s holding you back, that may have impeded you from reaching your potential and being happier in your life. The power of Coaching is to draw out the skills and talents that were previously hidden and assist you to identify the options, steps and actions available to achieve your goals.

How we look at things, what we focus on and the beliefs that we have about ourselves and the world, have a huge impact on our sense of happiness, how we react and respond to people and situations, as well as on what we achieve. Coaching can help identify the core beliefs present in your life, which may not be immediately clear, and then explore how these may be enhancing or could be limiting or constraining.

Coaching can also help people with skill development e.g. enhancing relationships, improving communication, time management.

Life/Personal coaching

People use life coaching to assist with a range of general life issues including career choices/development, interview skills, work/life balance, relationship choices and improvement, health, fitness and well being, coping with and adjusting to key life changes e.g. retirement, managing particular decisions, challenges or difficulties, improving confidence. At times clients may not be clear about what he/she wants, but knows that they want something to change in their life. Other times they have a very specific goal.

The length of Coaching sessions is agreed at the first appointment. With the Coach, you decide together on the number of sessions that will be most appropriate to assist with your goals. Coaching is generally a short term process.

Business/Executive Coaching

Team/organisation coaching
Teams are the force that drives most organizations. Whatever kind of team , whether it’s a functional team, a management team or a project team, working together effectively ensures that organisations get most done and have highest impact on their purpose/productivity. Performance and productivity can suffer when members of a team don’t work well together. This can be represented through hostility in the team, conflicting goals or purpose, unclear expectations, lack of understanding of different roles and goals, poor communication within the team.
